Community Involvement and Future Initiatives

We are always willing to help where we can and where time allows. We therefore extend an open invitation to anyone who believes we may be the right partner to make a positive difference within their community or assist with a meaningful project.

Sometimes even the smallest act of kindness can make a significant impact. Whether it is taking an extra sandwich to work on a particular day or lending a helping hand where needed, every contribution counts. We often reward our team with a “Lunch on Us” day as a small gesture of appreciation, and we are continually developing and planning new initiatives to support our local communities. Below is an overview of some of the projects we have been involved with, continue to support, and hope to pursue in the future.

Community Outreach and Church Support

Over the past several years, we have partnered with local churches within our community and, at times, assisted through referrals from those churches. Through these partnerships, we have provided maintenance assistance to elderly and disabled individuals who may struggle with everyday upkeep, as well as support for various church projects where specific needs have arisen.

Financial and Practical Support for Local Initiatives

We are proud to support a range of community-focused organisations and initiatives. This includes financial support for organisations such as Voices of Freedom, local churches and their international missionary partners, programmes assisting children with disabilities such as Special Children’s Christmas Party and demolition yards throughout Auckland through the purchase and donation of reusable materials to help promote a more sustainable future. One of our more recent initiatives, established in late 2024, is our support of the Gateway Programme within local colleges. Through this programme, students are placed with us for a day or two to gain practical exposure to the building and construction industry. This initiative works closely alongside our student placement and internship programmes outlined below.

Student Placements and Internships

We have partnered with a secondary school in East Auckland to provide practical training opportunities for students undertaking apprenticeship pathways within the building and construction industry. This allows students to gain valuable on-site experience as part of their formal training. Building on this commitment, we have also welcomed an intern in her fifth year of Architectural Design studies. Our goal was to support her professional development over the course of a year which we did and provided practical industry exposure, mentorship, and learning opportunities to help her prepare for a successful future within the construction and design industry. Moving on we’ve appointed a second intern in the Construction Management area already and in the process of appointing a third intern soon.

Future Sustainability Goals

One initiative we would love to become involved with in the future is working alongside Auckland Council and industry partners to increase the responsible reuse of second-hand building materials where practical and compliant. We believe this could create additional opportunities for homeowners and community organisations to improve properties at a reduced cost while also reducing unnecessary waste. We have followed industry discussions and media coverage relating to the reuse of building materials, including projects where surplus materials were shipped to Pacific Island communities following major flood events. We believe similar initiatives have the potential to make a meaningful difference for many people. We also recognise that this is not a simple undertaking. The building industry is governed by strict legislation, compliance requirements, and material performance standards, all of which present challenges that must be carefully considered. For this reason, we view this as a long-term objective and hope to work alongside demolition yards, suppliers, councils, and other industry partners to help identify practical and compliant solutions.

Looking Ahead

We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and the potential to become involved in even more community-focused initiatives in the years to come. We look forward to sharing future achievements and continuing to contribute wherever we can. We believe we are all here not only to build better homes, but also to help build stronger communities by supporting one another, particularly those who may not be able to support themselves. Maintenance, Children's Church, Disability & School Sports Activities

These are just some of the community initiatives and activities we have had the privilege of supporting over the years.

Uplifting Children Through Holiday Cheer

Another incredible charity we are proud to support does an outstanding job of hosting more than 2,000 children each year, including many children with special needs, through its annual “Special Children’s Christmas Party.”

Give Life - Give Blood

As part of our commitment to making a meaningful difference within our community, we actively encourage our team, partners, and wider network to consider becoming blood donors. Donating blood is a simple yet powerful act that can save lives and provide vital support to those in critical need.
