COMMUNITY

We’re always willing to help when we can and where time allows. Hence, an invite to please feel free to reach out to us if you believe we might be the right partner to make a difference in your community, or for your project.

Sometimes even the smallest help counts, like taking an extra sandwich to work on a specific day! We often reward our employees with a “Lunch on Us” day, just to make the load lighter, and we are constantly working on and planning new community events to support. Below are more details on what we have done, still do, and have on our long-term radar.

Community Outreach and Church Support

For the past few years, we have reached out a few times yearly to local churches in our community, or assisted on a referral basis otherwise, to provide maintenance services to elderly or disabled people who struggle to keep everyday maintenance intact, or to help with projects at these churches that have specific requests.

Financial and Practical Support for Local Initiatives

Financially, we support other NGOs such as Voices of Freedom, these community churches and their international missionary partners, several children with disability programmes, demolition yards in Auckland (by way of purchases and drop-offs for a greener tomorrow), and one of our recent initiatives since late 2024 is to support the Gateway Programme in Colleges. This is run by placing students with us for a day or two for an onsite look-and-see. (This coincides with our Student Placements and Internships below).

Student Placement and Internships

We have now signed up with a specific school in the east of Auckland to take on students who are doing partial training via BCITO apprenticeships in building and construction, to offer the practical part of their course. This has led to our next action of appointing an intern in her fifth practical year of Architectural Design, to walk a road with for a year and learn as much as she possibly can to put her on her way to a brighter future.

Future Sustainability Goals

A future project we would love to get involved with is working with the Auckland Council in the re-use, where possible, of second-hand building materials, allowing more people to access opportunities to upgrade their homes. We have followed industry talks and the media coverage when second-hand materials were shipped to the Pacific Islands after floods in recent years, and we believe such materials can make a difference for many. This is not an easy project, so it will take some time to find a workable solution and way around it, as it has certain limitations due to strict legislation and required material standards in the building industry. Hence, this is a long-term goal for us — to help find such a solution with other industry partners like demolition yards.

We are always excited about what lies ahead with future community projects and can’t wait to report back to you on what we have accomplished further in the coming years. We are all here not just to make a difference for ourselves in this world, but to help each other — especially those who can’t support themselves!

For any further information on any of our projects, please feel free to email us.

Maintenance, Children's Church, Disability & School Sports Activities

These are all community activities we have had the opportunity to assist with over the years.

Uplifting Children Through Holiday Cheer

Another incredible charity we are proud to support does an outstanding job hosting over 2,000 children, including many special needs children, at their  “Special Children’s Christmas Party” at the end of each year.

Give Life - Give Blood

As part of our commitment to making a tangible difference in our community, we actively encourage our team, partners, and network to consider becoming blood donors. Donating blood is a simple yet powerful act that can save lives and support those in critical need. To register as a blood donor visit: nzblood.co.nz
