There’s a saying that comes to mind when I read the post below and watch this 1920s video ![]()
: “Each man to his own trade!” The saying may only be familiar to some, but it’s very true! I’ll explain…
I let my office and marketing team draft a description of this project, as I was busy — and let’s just say, it did not go well!
So…
PROJECT MANAGER’S WARNING ![]()
OUR BASEMENT PROJECT is past halfway, BUT… reading the post below is entirely at your own risk!
Firstly, you’re not going to learn anything helpful. In fact, it might just mislead you about what’s really going on!
Secondly, follow us and in about two weeks’ time, I’ll explain the real scope of this project — with proper photos — and I’ll give an expert clarification that will make much more sense…
QUESTION – ARE YOU GOING TO LET ANYONE WORK ON YOUR PROJECT?
(I’m graciously supporting staff with this post, so here’s the “expert opinions” from the project’s progress to date
):
Project started with a partially built concrete foundation.
We saw sand and stone outside — building sand, we believe!
That looked like a decent compacting job… or are they not compacting? Surely they should if we’re pouring concrete?
There’s some kind of dust extraction happening… Not sure if it helps, but it looks “constructionish”
Those little windows were cut at ground level outside — but definitely not ground level inside. Phew, glad that worked out!!!
Then we started building something. Countertops, maybe?
The DB board looks brand new — so the electrician’s been around.
(What a bright thought) ![]()
Then we reached the GIB stage.
(Why’s that word always in caps – must be an important product!)
Thinking about insulation? Probably not an option with a concrete wall — there’s nowhere to fit it of course!
Only one thing left to say and think:
STAND BY – Ernie to the rescue… soon!
