Basement Project

Basement conversion project, part 2. Dark, unfinished basement with block wall.

We transformed an unusable subfloor space by first reinforcing the exposed foundations and constructing a concrete-filled masonry block retaining wall to ensure structural integrity. They were right at least about the dust extraction. Double-glazed windows were then installed where the vent holes used to be to improve ventilation and allow natural light to flood the area. The walls were strapped, insulated (with Expol polystyrene) and gib lined to create a comfortable, modern feel. Once painted and with flooring installed, the space was completely transformed into a functional, contemporary area ready for future use AND that is the REAL scope of this project!
