Episode 2 – Midway with the 1930’s Villa Home Remodel

We’re midway through this renovation of a classic 1930s villa, and the results are beginning to shine through. Steel PFC portal beams have been installed and cleverly concealed within a handcrafted Remu coffered ceiling, maintaining both strength and visual elegance.

The electrical system has been fully upgraded with energy-efficient LED lighting and practical two-way switches.

Meanwhile, the kitchen has been completely stripped, ready for a new design and upgraded appliances. Behind the walls, we’ve reinforced timber framing, installed new insulation, and begun relining with GIB plasterboard. All existing floors have been protected to ensure the original finishes remain intact.

This project brings together structural performance, modern comforts, and traditional character in perfect balance.
