The Consent Phase of a Build is complicated, trying to not only understand how Building Approvals work and the process it follows, but it also requires understanding of the Building Codes and the Challenges it brings.

We have done our best to put it out as simple as possible for better understanding but believe us if we say it can become much more complicated!

As if that’s not enough, there are Permits, having the knowledge to understand how to pass each Inspection and at which interval they will happen to prepare individually for those and then finally obtaining the (very important) CCC, that not only tells buyers your home is worth the purchase price you need to receive, but it also gives you the surety that while your family lives in it, that it is save for you and them to do so! You will also need to keep track with legislation and changes that is always ongoing with the newest update being: A new private company that can now as approve Building Consents; we are also talking about in the E-Book – I am wondering if that’s good or bad and went to read up a bit more on other opinions. As usual, it has its positives and negatives and for that reason, although our own article focuses on the positive side of having a private entity in the market now to help, I felt it was important to share the opposite of the story with you, as Dentons Law Firm puts it, it’s certainly worth seeing it from their perspective too! (Link below at the bottom of the page, but first read on…)

There is a certain amount of responsibility also for the Homeowner when you decide to build. Our E-book will be a helpful guide for those Owners that want to understand this process and be part of their build when dealing with their Builder, therefore we have addressed the Homeowner in a way to be informative as if there is no Builder talking or any sales going on.

Just facts and Information! From the Builders perspective though, there are so many Phases of Planning in a Build and ironically the first Phase is to Plan, when you need to start the actual Planning Phase!

This is so important, as a good project is based on its planning, as with everything! There are many factors that need to come together, in fact so many that building today is not nearly the same as building 20 years back where many of us are still stuck.

Legislation and Building Codes are of such that it takes months of planning and work to pull the Pre-Building Phase together! In the case of renovations, for instance or an extension where maybe 100 supplier products can be specked using an Estimator/QS to put the best products and pricing together for you is crucial and Builders spent weeks to do this, so it worth every cent you will pay to receive a well planned project! (Gone is the days of Free Quotes as red tape has surely caused for more responsibility!) If you have a Company (Building Consultant/Project Manager/High Level Builder), that delivers a turnkey project, involving engineers, geo-technicians, architects and more, you are probably in the best hands if you are looking for a worry-free Build!

This is exactly what we do, so please feel free to leave your details within the E-book if you need our assistance!
